Obituary

Barbara Faye Jenkins Aspinwall, 72, passed from this life to eternal life on June 12, 2024. She has joined her son, Christopher, parents Ernest and Georgia Mae, and brothers Emory, Billy Ray, and Morris in heaven. A native of Georgia, she lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida, and was a long-time resident of Pensacola. She had a long and varied career in banking, working for Atlantic Bank, First Union, Wachovia, Gulf Winds Credit Union, and Navy Federal Credit Union.

Mom met Dad while pursuing one of her passions, bowling, in 1980 and they were married for 42 years. She enjoyed traveling, playing slot machines, bunco, and monthly lunches with her friends. Mom was also passionate about college football. To quote her, GO GATORS!

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Earl Aspinwall, daughter Lisa (Buddy) Yates; sister, Patricia (Thomas Clayton) Cox; sister-in-law, Von Jenkins; grandson Trey Yates, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 10 AM Thursday, June 20, 2024 in Aspinwall Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Todd officiating.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted but donations to charity in honor will also be accepted. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association, Valvereplacement.org, and HeartValveSurgery.com.

Please remember Mom as you knew her during her life with us. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed.
