Barbara Roberson Barnes of Screven, died Sunday, June 30, 2019 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.  The Wayne County native was a member of Ritch Missionary Baptist Church and a retired Safety and Training Instructor with Carolina Turkey Company.  She was a former employee of Waynline, a homemaker, and former member of the Eastern Star who enjoyed fishing, flowers, and birds.  She was predeceased by her parents, Carlisle and Melvine Roberson; former husband and father of her sons, Joe Barnes; sister, Elaine "Sissy" Roberson and brother, Billy Crews.

Survivors are her sons, Tony (Annamaria) Barnes of Appling, Larry (Misty) Barnes of Screven, Barry (Sarah) Barnes of Patterson; grandchildren, Barbara (Kyle) Desjardins, Sarah Barnes, Valeria Barnes, Nathan Barnes, Jaden Barnes, Lainie Barnes, and Lyndsay Barnes; great grandchildren, Annamaria and Savannah Desjardins; two sisters, Mardale (Pat) Lackey and Julie Samples; 3 brothers, Jimmy (Mary Ann) Roberson, Tommy (Judy) Roberson, and Ray (Lil) Johnson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Ritch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. Benji McReady officiating.  Interment will be in Screven City Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Jake Trebil, Edward King, Max Martinkoski, Kyle Desjardins, Seth Fenn, and Jeremiah Overstreet.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday School Class and the Ladies of Church Ministry.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to service at the church.
