Anne Carpenter Hoover, 67, of Odum, Ga. died Friday, June 10, 2022.  The North Carolina native had lived in Wayne County the past 40 years and was a member of Odum Methodist Church, where she served as secretary, Sunday school teacher and choir director.  She graduated from Indiana University and received her master's degree from Georgia Southern University. Her love for children grew as she taught for 31 years in Long County and recently had tutored children of the Wayne County School System. Anne loved Wayne County and served as Treasurer of the Wayne County Historical Society and was an active member of the Retired Teachers Association. Dancing was a favorite pastime along with traveling, especially abroad and taking care of her cats.

Survivors are her companion for 35 years, Glynn Horton of Odum; two brothers, Ray (Lucy) Hoover of Seabrook Island, S.C. and David (Missy) Hoover of Auburn, California.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, June 12, 2022 in the Odum City Cemetery with Pastor Don Cunningham officiating.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to services in the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Odum Methodist Church, P. O. Box 15, Odum, GA 31555.
