Jesup, Georgia Ann Joyner Howell, 72, of Jesup, Ga. died Saturday, April 12, 2014 after a short illness. The Wayne Co., Ga., native and former resident of Brandon, Fla., had resided back in Wayne Co., Ga. the past 40 years. She was a former supervisor with Ashley Manufacturing Company, former secretary at Wayne County High School and an avid NASCAR fan. She was predeceased by her grandparents, E. R. and Romania Hall Lastinger and a brother, Haywood Joyner. Survivors are a son, Berry Howell of Jesup, Ga.; mother, Melba Lastinger Mills of Jesup, Ga.; a sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Johnny Jones of Jesup, Ga.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. At her request, private services will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia Building Fund, 1625 Sunset Blvd. Jesup, Ga. 31545. The Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
