Nashville, Ga.

Alvin Westberry, 75, of Nashville died Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Pruitt Health Crestwood Nursing Home in Valdosta. The Appling County native lived in Wayne County for a few years and was a member of the Baptist Church and a U. S. Navy Veteran. He was a retired electrician and auto mechanic and enjoyed salt water fishing. He was predeceased by his parents, Sim and Jincy Teston Westberry; daughter, Wanda Joyce Gray; sons, Mark and Michael Westberry; sisters, Viola Westberry, Claudia Davenport, Josie Wiggins, and Edith Roberson; brothers, Mack, Theo, Albert, Lankford and George Westberry.

Survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (Joe) Davis of Willacoochee, Deborah Smith of Ludowici, and Maria (Henry) DeGrace of New Bedford, Massachusetts; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Naomi Parker of Hinesville; brothers, Eugene Westberry of LaGrange and Gordon Westberry of Ludowici; son-in-law, Danny Gray of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Rentz officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to service at the funeral home.
