Kathryn “Tommie” Harper Edenfield, 88 of Jesup, Ga. died Thursday, December 06, 2012 in St. Joseph’s Hospital after a short illness. The Wayne County, Ga. native was a member of Bethesda Primitive Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. She also was a special aunt to many people. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Willie J. (W.J.) “Shub” Edenfield; a son, Bryan Jay Edenfield; her parents, Harry and Kate Colvin Harper; 3 sisters, Lila Mae Knight, Ethel Manning and Gladys Stone; 2 brothers, Jesse Harper and H. C. Harper.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Eunita and DeMont Rogers of Jesup, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Kary and Brenda Edenfield of Jesup, Ga.; 4 grandchildren, Sheila and Lance Hill of Warner Robins, Ga., Bryan and Jessica Rogers of Athens, Ga., Jonathan Edenfield of Jesup, Ga. and Kadi Edenfield of Tampa, Fla.,; a great granddaughter, Alex Hill of Warner Robins, Ga.;a sister, Dorothy Spell of Jesup,Ga.; a sister-in-law, Inee Rooks of Jesup, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Harmon Edenfield of Jesup, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Elder Randy Strickland and Rev. Wayne Manning officiating. Interment will be in the Bethesda Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Gilbert “Duke” Snyder, W.A. Edenfield, Middie Hickox, Merle Edenfield, Cecil Brown and David Spell. Honorary pallbearers will members of Bethesda Primitive Baptist Church and sister Primitive Baptist Churches, Hammond and Ila Jean Sirmans, Charles Pye, Nola Brannen, Gwen Ward, Alvin and Betty Johnson and the employees of Altamaha Home Health.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Bethesda Primitive Baptist Church or Bethesda Cemetery Fund of Wayne County, 1304 Hires Road, Jesup, Ga. 31545.
