Screven, Ga.

Vernon “Vern” Louis Sesler, 83 of Screven, Ga. died Thursday, September 6, 2012 in Wayne Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. The Kentucky native was a member of O’Quinn Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran serving in WWII, and a retired U.S. Postal Carrier. He was predeceased by his son, Steven Lewis Sesler.

Survivors are a wife of 56 years, Gwen Osborne Sesler of Screven, Ga.; a daughter, Pam Wiggins of Rincon, Ga.; a step-son, Loderick “Ricky” A. Shuman of Springfield, Ga.; 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Sunday, September 9, 2012 at O’Quinn Baptist Church with Elder Jim Osborne officiating along with American Legion Post 311’s presentation of the U.S. Flag. Interment will be in the O’Quinn Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eric Sesler, Derek Sinclair, Danny Anderson, Mark Wangstad, James Godwin and Carroll Anderson.

Visitation will be 2 to 3 P.M. prior to services at the church.
