Hughland Bennett "Benny Bear" Howard, 2 year old son of Richard and Meagan Howard of Ludowici passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 in Memorial University and Medical Center in Savannah after an extended illness. He was born July 20, 2016 and was a happy, loving, little boy.  Benny loved to be rocked and sang to and play "patty cake".  He knew his father's touch, his mother's love but most of all, he knew his big brother, Reid. He was predeceased by his great grandfather, Billy Gene Morgan.

In addition to his parents, Bennett is survived by a big brother, Reid Howard; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Becky Howard of Ludowici; paternal grandparents, Mike and Connie Howard of Ludowici; maternal great grandmother, Doris Moody Morgan of Ludowici; paternal great grandmother, Janette Vires of Hinesville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Ludowici with Rev. John Gladin and Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Elim Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Anthony and Derek Howard, Bryan Wingate and Zane Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be the PSA Healthcare employees and members of the Long County EMS, Fire Department and Air Evac.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Ludowici.
