Ritch Aspinwall's Obituary

Ritch Aspinwall, 73 of Odum died Friday, February 16, 2018 under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.  The Wayne County native was a retired Rayonier employee and a millwright with Local Union 272 in Savannah.  He loved having a vegetable garden and riding the golf cart with his grandchildren and dogs. He was predeceased by his parents; Colvin and Sula Aspinwall, two sisters;  Dorothy Poppell, Dora Wood; a brother, Colvin Aspinwall.

Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Peggy Aspinwall of Odum;  two daughters, Toni (Keith) Ray of Odum, Tammy (Daniel) Porvalik of Brunswick; a son, Jason (Shelby) Aspinwall of Odum; 7 grandchildren, Bryce Ray, Carson Ray, Sullivan Porvalik, Sebastian Porvalik, Emery Aspinwall, Miller Aspinwall, Olivia Aspinwall; two sisters, Doris (Murray) Rogers of Blythe Island, Una (Dewitt) Teston of Jesup; two brothers, Buddy Aspinwall of Odum, Donald Aspinwall of Screven; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Monday, February 19, 2018 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Dennie Waters and Rev. Gerald Greenlee officiating.  Interment will be in the Odum City Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be his nephews.  Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Wynn, Johnny Brown, Randy Leggett, Glenn Keener, Shawn Flowers, Kelly Daniels, Leonard Poppell, Hospice of South Georgia Staff, and former employees of Rayonier.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Boulevard, Jesup, Georgia 31545.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
